Cloud migration with substance — not buzzwords.
The cloud offers real benefits. But it also brings complexity, cost risks, and dependencies. We help you seize the opportunities — and keep the risks under control.

What is cloud migration?
Cloud migration is the process of moving existing IT systems, applications, and data from on-premises servers to a cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. The goal is greater scalability, lower operating costs, and higher availability — while maintaining data protection and compliance requirements.
Why cloud? Because the benefits are real.
When done right, the cloud transforms your business for the better.
Flexibility
Scale resources up and down on demand — no hardware orders and lead times.
Scalability
Handle load spikes automatically. Black Friday, campaign peaks, seasonal fluctuations — the cloud grows with you.
Rapid provisioning
New environments in minutes instead of weeks. Development, testing, and deployment speed up noticeably.
No hardware lock-in
No maintenance contracts, no aging hardware, no capital costs for servers sitting in a rack for 3 years.
Modern platforms
Access to managed services, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and AI services — out of the box.
Availability
Multi-AZ architectures, automatic failover, and global distribution ensure resilience.
This is exactly where we help.
We know these concerns — because we see them in every project. And we have a proven approach for each one.
Concern
Costs out of control
Pay-as-you-go sounds great — until nobody knows who provisioned what.
Our approach: Cost governance from day 1
- Budgets, alerts, and tagging strategy before the first resource
- Monthly cost review with concrete optimization measures
- Reserved Instances & Savings Plans properly sized
You keep cost control — because we build it in from the start.
Concern
Vendor lock-in
Proprietary services tie you to one provider.
Our approach: Deliberate architecture decisions
- Lock-in assessment for every cloud service used
- Container-based workloads where sensible (portable)
- Documented exit strategy as part of the architecture
We use cloud services — but we don't make you dependent.
Concern
Complexity
Without experience, your team drowns in configuration.
Our approach: Making your team cloud-capable
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) — reproducible, versioned
- Runbooks and documentation for daily operations
- Hands-on training instead of PowerPoint sessions
We don't build a black box — we build competence in your team.
Concern
GDPR & compliance
Cloud compliance isn't a checkbox — it's an ongoing process.
Our approach: Compliance by design
- EU regions for all personal data
- Encryption at rest and in transit as standard
- Support with DPA, TOMs, and GDPR documentation
Data protection isn't an afterthought — it's part of the architecture.
Concern
Migration risks
Downtime, data loss, hidden dependencies.
Our approach: No system without rollback
- Blue-green deployment for every migration step
- Parallel operation until validation
- Documented rollback plan before every cut-over
We migrate step by step — and have a Plan B for every step.
Concern
Operations afterwards
Migration is just the beginning. Who takes care afterwards?
Our approach: We don't disappear after go-live
- Managed service or team enablement — you decide
- Monitoring, alerting, and incident response from day 1
- Long-term support with dedicated contacts
We stay on board — as long as you need us.
Why devRocks?
For over 10 years, we've been supporting companies with their cloud projects — from the first migration to ongoing operations.
Cloud migration isn't a weekend project. It needs someone who understands your systems, realistically assesses risks, and doesn't disappear after go-live. That's exactly what we do: plan, migrate, optimize — and stay on board as long as you need us.
We're based in Northern Germany and speak the language of mid-sized companies. That means: we don't deliver 50-page consultant reports, but a clear plan your team understands and your controller trusts.

Our process: From analysis to operations.
No migration without a plan. Our proven 5-step model ensures nothing is left to chance.
Step 1
Analysis
Inventory of your IT landscape: systems, dependencies, data flows, business-critical processes.
Step 2
Assessment
Which systems benefit from the cloud? Which are better off on-premise? Honest evaluation instead of cloud dogma.
Step 3
Target architecture
Cloud-native where sensible, lift-and-shift where necessary. With cost governance, compliance, and exit strategy.
Step 4
Migration
Step by step, tested, with rollback plan. Parallel operation until validation. No big bang.
Step 5
Operations & optimization
Monitoring, cost reviews, security updates. We stay on board or enable your team — you decide.

Frequently asked questions
It depends on complexity. Typical projects range from 4 to 16 weeks. A single system can be migrated in a few days, while a complete infrastructure with 20+ servers takes correspondingly longer. We clarify the exact timeline during the analysis.
The initial call is free and non-binding. The costs for analysis and migration depend on the scope and complexity of your infrastructure. You'll receive a transparent fixed-price offer — no open-ended hourly quotas.
AWS and Azure meet the strictest security standards — ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR. On top of that, we configure networks, access rights, and encryption following the principle of least privilege. In most cases, the security posture is better after migration than before.
Yes, and that's exactly what we recommend. We start with non-critical systems, gather experience, and work our way to business-critical applications. This minimizes risk and lets your team get used to the cloud step by step.
You decide: Either your team takes over cloud operations — we train and document everything — or we stay on as a managed service partner. Most of our clients choose a combination.
Not necessarily. We can handle the complete migration and subsequent operations. If you have an internal team, we work closely together and enable them for independent cloud operations.
Then we'll tell you. Not every system belongs in the cloud. During the analysis phase, we honestly assess which workloads benefit and which are better off staying on-premise. You get a well-founded recommendation — not sales pitch slides.
In 30 minutes you'll know if the cloud is your next step.
30-minute introductory call, no commitment. You'll get an honest assessment — no sales pitch slides.
